FAQ
Are there any hidden costs?
None at all. Transparency is one of our core values, and we want you to feel confident in your investment. Our package prices include GST and all editing fees. There are only two instances where additional costs may apply:
• Travel Fees: We include travel within the Sydney Metro area in our standard packages. For beautiful “destination” weddings further afield—such as the Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands, or Blue Mountains—a modest travel fee applies to cover our team’s time and fuel.
• Parking: For inner-city Sydney weddings or venues without on-site parking, we simply ask that parking fees be reimbursed after the wedding. This allows our team to park as close to the venue as possible, ensuring we are on-site and ready to capture every moment without delay.
Why should we book a Photo & Video bundle?
Booking our combined team is the best way to maximize your budget. Not only do you receive a bundle discount, but you also ensure a synchronized creative team. This means fewer logistical headaches for you and a more cohesive look across both your photos and your film.
What is the "Second Photographer" benefit?
Most of our mid-to-high tier packages include a second shooter. This allows us to be in two places at once—capturing both partners getting ready, getting both the wide shot of the ceremony and the close-up of the groom’s reaction, and ensuring no guest’s smile goes uncaptured.
Can we upgrade our package later?
Yes! Many couples book a base package to secure their date and then add extra hours, a luxury wedding album, or a Same Day Video Edit as an extra to the day as their schedule firms up.
Do you offer payment plans?
We certainly do. To make things easier, we require a retainer (30% of total investment ) to secure the date, with the balance payable in installments leading up to the wedding. We’re happy to find a rhythm that works for your budget.
What if our wedding runs overtime?
If the party is too good to leave, we won’t just pack up! You can request additional coverage on the night at a set hourly rate. We’ll always check in with you before our scheduled finish time to see if you’d like us to stay.
Are you insured? (Public Liability)
Yes, fully. Lightheart Wedding Photography carries comprehensive Public Liability Insurance ($20M coverage). This is a requirement for many premium Sydney venues (such as those in the Royal Botanic Gardens, major hotels, and historic estates). We are happy to provide a Certificate of Currency to your venue coordinator upon request to ensure everything is cleared for your day.
What is your booking process?
We’ve made our booking process as seamless as possible so you can focus on the excitement of your engagement! Here is the 5-step journey to securing Lightheart for your wedding:
1. The Inquiry: Fill out our contact form with your date and venue. We’ll confirm our availability and send over our full pricing guide within 24 hours.
2. The Initial Chat: We’d love to meet you! We can jump on a Zoom call or meet at our Sydney studio to chat through your vibe and see if we are the perfect fit.
3. The Custom Quote: Once we know exactly what you need, we’ll send you a booking form with your tailored package.
4. Lock it In: To secure your date, we require a signed booking form and a retainer fee. Once that’s done, your date is officially locked into our calendar!
5. Pre-wedding Consultation: Closer to the day, you will meet our head photographer for your wedding to discuss the timeline, finalise the run-sheet, and ask any remaining questions. This meeting can be held via Zoom or in our studio to ensure everything is perfectly planned for your big day.
