Macro Wedding Photography
Most wedding photography is about groups of people, the bride and groom walking the aisle, the relatives …etc. But these days there are also wedding photos for the tiny details. We expect photos of the rings, the flower bouquet, the heirloom cuff-links, and the old, new, borrowed, and blue items. We may use macro photography for these items if they are small enough to be held in our hands.
Macro photography is about taking larger-than-life photos of fairly small objects. This one required specialist equipment, usually a macro lens attachment for the camera and perhaps some external lighting. But today macro is easily available to anybody with an average digital camera, or even with many smartphones. A clip-on macro lens will adapt many smartphones for the type of close-up photography.

- If you have a digital camera then it will probably have a macro mode. Try some test shots with this mode on, looking carefully at light and shadow.
A clip-on macro lens is a good option for smartphones and some digital devices. These will cost anywhere from $20 to $50, but they will provide years of use. Make sure the lens will not move, as any movement will be magnified by the lens. - DSLR Camera Macro Wedding Photographer
- DSLR (Digital Single-lens Reflex) cameras have many options for macro, and many different external lenses and attachments are available. One simple yet effective option is to reverse the standard 50mm lens. This means it magnifies rather than reduces the image, which is exactly what you want for macro work.
- A reversing ring, available quite cheaply, can be used for mounting the lens backward. This works with any type of lens, but 50mm seems to be the most commonly used type. It is also possible to use two lenses in reverse for photographing very tiny objects.
- An extension tube is simply a hollow cylinder that is fitted between the lens and the main camera body. It allows you to get closer to a tiny object with higher magnification and good focus.
